JitOffice Puts Docs, AI, and Approval Flows Behind the Firewall

Let me state the conclusion first: we've put Word, Excel, PPT, mind maps, plus AI generation and approval flows, all into one platform. It's called JitOffice.

1. Why we built JitOffice

In recent months, big tech companies have all been pushing AI-powered online office tools. Tencent launched Workbuddy, Alibaba released Qianwen Office, ByteDance came out with Doubao Work. Relying on their public cloud ecosystems, these giants are pushing AI documents, smart summarization, and agent task assistants to every employee's fingertips, making it very easy for ordinary teams to adopt AI office tools.

But we also see that public cloud AI office tools have an unavoidable boundary: contracts, bids, project plans, core technical documents, and confidential client materials. Once uploaded to a public platform, enterprises face ongoing risks of data leakage, compliance audits, and information crossing borders. Government agencies, state-owned enterprises, energy, finance, manufacturing, and many other organizations with confidentiality requirements don't want to use AI for efficiency; they simply dare not hand their core work data to the public cloud. That's the original motivation behind JitOffice.

JitOffice is positioned as a full-stack, privately deployed AI office suite for enterprises. The entire document engine, collaboration capabilities, AI knowledge base, and intelligent assistants are all deployed on the enterprise's own servers or internal network. All documents, chat records, and enterprise knowledge base data never leave the domain, fully controlled by the enterprise itself.

We're not just simply replicating the big tech AI office capabilities: online collaborative documents, spreadsheets, mind maps, OFD, document comparison, RAG internal knowledge base, AI summarization and rewriting, meeting minutes, and intelligent Q&A, all available. More importantly, we open up model integration capabilities, supporting connection to enterprise self-developed private large language models and local open-source models, with RBAC permission control, complete operation audit logs, Xinchuang (domestic IT infrastructure) adaptation, integration with existing OA / business systems, OEM branding, and secondary development.

The big tech AI office is an efficiency tool for the masses; JitOffice is an controllable, auditable, privatizable AI office foundation for enterprises that have data security bottom lines. It lets enterprises enjoy AI-driven document efficiency, knowledge retrieval, and intelligent collaboration while safeguarding business secrets and compliance red lines, safely landing AI in real business processes.

We originally built the JitWord collaborative document engine, and have accumulated a lot of business and technical practice in the AI office space. Instead of letting these problems remain scattered, it's better to grow a complete office suite on top of this engine — hence JitOffice.

To be honest, we started planning JitOffice last year, and didn't expect the big tech companies to successively launch AI office products in recent months. Though we're small, it at least proves our vision was correct~

2. What is JitOffice

To introduce it in one sentence: JitOffice is an online collaborative AI office platform built on the JitWord collaborative document engine. Documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and mind maps, plus AI conversational generation, multi-tenant isolation, and configurable approval flows, all usable in one account and one browser tab.

Getting started is almost zero-barrier: no client installation needed, just register with an email. Office document editing pages directly jump to our self-developed editing SDK, which is something we've polished for years.

3. Feature highlights

1. Multi-level file management

The entry page is a file manager (cloud drive): multi-level folders, right-click to create, drag-and-drop organization, familiar directory logic. You can directly open or create Word, Excel, PPT, and mind map files in JitOffice, managing all office assets in one space.

Core value: When creating a 'new folder', you can choose which level it goes in, and also choose the new type and creation method — start blank or hand it to AI for drafting, all in the same dialog, no back-and-forth jumping.

2. AI conversational document generation

This is the recently popular workbuddy mode: instead of having AI spit out text for you to format yourself, you describe what you want in a conversation, and AI directly lays down structure, headings, body, and tables into a real document, which can be edited with one click after generation.

We also support autonomous task mode, similar to Muse, Xiaolongxia, which can autonomously plan and orchestrate different AIs to complete office document writing, as shown below:

Core value: From a 'one-sentence requirement' to a 'decent first draft', with no copy-paste in between.

3. Multi-tenant: one person, multiple companies

One person can create and switch between multiple company spaces, with data completely isolated between companies. Each enterprise space can configure its own logo, copy, intro, and theme color. Enter a company, get its skin.

Core value: Personal space and enterprise space are distinguished by a type field in the data model, and one piece of data belongs to only one tenant. Switching spaces is switching context, no cross-contamination.

4. Configurable approval flows

Writing a document is not the end. Transactional documents like contracts, seal usage, and expenses often need to go through a workflow. JitOffice has built-in configurable approval flow nodes. Who submits, who reviews, approve or reject, all can run on the platform with records.

Core value: Putting 'document collaboration' and 'process control' in the same platform — a step many online Office tools are unwilling to take, but enterprises need most.

5. Model integration and AI capability management

In system settings, you can configure model AKs and APIs, integrate multiple large models, without being bound to any one vendor. Around the AI assistant, you can also manage Skills, MCP services, and Templates in the backend, with changes taking effect in real time.

Core value: Models are pluggable, capabilities are configurable. Enterprises that want to connect their own models or solidify their own writing templates don't need to change code.

4. Overall architecture

The platform is divided into four layers: the top is a unified web access layer (also adapting for mobile), below is the platform layer handling users, tenants, permissions, and approvals, then the capability layer — AI generation, file management, and the directly reused JitWord editing SDK, and the bottom is tenant-isolated storage.

Technology selection also maximizes reuse of our technical assets: editing capabilities never reinvent the wheel. The editing pages for docs/spreadsheets/PPT/mind maps all integrate our mature JitWord editing SDK, and the platform only handles orchestration of 'people, spaces, processes, AI'. This ensures editing experience and lets the platform quickly support new formats.

5. Complete usage flow review

Stringing the four layers together, a team member's daily workflow roughly has six steps:

Data flow is also simple: user action → platform validates tenant and permissions → AI / editing SDK processes content → results stored with tenant isolation. Every file, from creation, carries the 'exclusive attribute' of its company.

6. Application scenarios

• One-stop office for small and mid-sized teams: don't buy separate tools for docs, spreadsheets, PPT, and approvals; one platform covers it all.

• Standard and knowledge document collaboration: team standards, SOPs, proposal documents, real-time multi-person editing, AI drafting, approval finalization.

• Transactional documents with workflows: contracts, seal usage, expense applications, written then directly approved, with records for review.

• Consulting / delivery teams: one person serves multiple client companies, using multi-tenancy to cleanly isolate each client's data and themes.
