Doubao Work Ships as a Feishu-Native Agent That Operates Your Computer and Delivers Finished Documents

Yesterday a reader commented, "I think Doubao Work will rise quickly and reach number one! Because the Feishu + Doubao system really feels formidable."

You know what, after a full day of deep experience, I feel the same.

Doubao Work, a brand-new AI office Agent, can break down tasks on its own, operate your computer, and directly write results into Feishu cloud documents.

You say one sentence, it finishes and delivers the work.

It's natively integrated with Feishu — enterprise documents, group chats, meetings, and task context can all be inherited.

I've already downloaded and installed it locally.

The first-launch interface is very clear, very clean — just the way I like it.

What pleasantly surprised me is that Doubao Work has a multi-device sync feature worth a little praise.

It has two working modes — local computer and cloud computer.

Local computer is your local computer (cheeky). Cloud computer is a virtual machine Doubao Work opens for you in the cloud, online 24 hours a day.

What does that mean?

It means even if your local computer shuts down or goes to sleep, tasks can still switch to the cloud computer and keep running.

So by using Doubao Work, I also get an extra cloud server?

Yes, you understood correctly.

Usage is simple: just choose local computer or cloud computer for the work task.

The Doubao app side can also sync. For example, when you switch a work task from cloud computer to local computer on your phone, the context can be shared too.

Look closely, this is my phone side. I started with the cloud computer, now I've switched to the local computer.

Doubao Work on my computer also automatically switched from cloud to local computer.

In other words, you can dispatch work from your phone or from your computer. Doubao Work's execution environment can be chosen as cloud — for tasks like operating Feishu documents that don't need a local environment; or your local computer — if the task requires controlling the local computer, like editing local files.

In yet other words, whether you have a computer or not, you can dispatch work to Doubao Work anytime, anywhere, making it slave away for you, haha.

Come on, come on, let the workhorse start working for us.

01. One-sentence task dispatch

Readers who follow me probably know that I launched a product this week — PaiResume, completely open-source code, an AI-based intelligent resume optimization tool.

The product just went live and needs a promotional copy, plus a GitHub homepage.

This task is perfect to hand over to Doubao Work.

"Help me write a promotional document for PaiResume. My product address is resume.paicoding.com. Highlight the two selling points: AI intelligent optimization and lossless one-page. After writing, output to a Feishu document. Then help me update the GitHub homepage README, requiring product screenshots, product introduction, and make it as polished and attractive as possible."

After receiving the task, Doubao Work broke it down itself.

First step, it went to browse the product page on the official website. I watched it scrape the homepage's feature introduction, usage flow, tech stack, and other information. The information gathering step was quite meticulous.

Then it started organizing the copy. It divided the document into three sections — core selling points, practical features, and real user reviews. Each section had several bullet points underneath, with very clear hierarchy.

I flipped through it. The product selling points were basically all captured. AI intelligent optimization and one-click generation were placed at the very front, priority was also correct.

But here I need to offer a tiny suggestion: since it's integrated with Feishu, could it automatically log me in when I open a Feishu link inside Doubao Work after I've already logged into Doubao Work?

Next, Doubao Work automatically switched to the second task — updating the GitHub homepage.

It found the GitHub repository's README on my computer and modified it, then directly helped me commit (I used Auto mode). I looked at the changes; the format was completely consistent with other projects, very authentic.

The entire process, I just input one paragraph of text. I didn't switch any windows in between; all operations were completed inside Doubao Work.

Including screenshots.

This is also what I feel is the biggest difference between Doubao Work and other work Agents — it delivers results. Feishu documents are directly generated, no need for me to copy-paste and reformat; GitHub is directly modified and committed, no need for me to open a terminal and type commands myself.

Perfect.

This task isn't complex, but it actually best demonstrates an Agent's autonomous capability: whether it can, without human intervention, break down tasks on its own, find information on its own, organize content on its own, and execute operations on its own.

02. Reverse-engineer Skill + Seedance creation

All the illustrations for my articles are generated using image2. Many, many readers want this style and hope I can open-source it.

Once I finish organizing, I'll open-source it on GitHub.

Here, let me first teach everyone an unorthodox method, and just try whether Doubao Work can help me pull it off.

The idea is simple.

Throw one of my article illustrations to Doubao Work and have it reverse-engineer the style description and a reusable Skill.

"Look at this image, help me break down its style characteristics — color scheme, composition method, element types, font style, background treatment, etc. — then organize it into a reusable Skill. I hope that in the future, by inputting different themes and keywords, I can generate illustrations of a similar style."

Doubao Work's image understanding capability gave me a small pleasant surprise.

It broke down the illustration's style quite meticulously. I'll excerpt a few items from its analysis:

• I thoroughly analyzed the image's color scheme, determining the main color as deep black #1A202C, auxiliary color as orange #DD6B20, background as pure white, module fill as extremely light same-color series, overall saturation medium-low, presenting a fresh hand-drawn feel.
• Identified various visual elements including hand-drawn thick-border rounded rectangles, dashed boxes, 3D cubes, while clarifying the design forms of bottom summary text and corner decorations, as well as the overall balanced symmetry and ample white space layout characteristics.

Then it helped me organize a complete Skill, including color templates, composition rules, element selection standards, and text layout constraints.

Then we used this Skill to directly generate new illustrations.

Everyone, take a look. I think it's quite good.

Doubao Work has built-in ByteDance's self-developed Seedance and Seedream models. Seedance generates videos, Seedream generates images. No need to jump to other tools; you can call them directly within the conversation.

Next, let's use the Skill we just reverse-engineered and have Seedream generate a new illustration according to screenshot placeholder specifications:

"Using the illustration Skill from just now, help me generate an illustration in the data-board style, theme is 'Doubao Work Core Capabilities Overview', keywords: multi-device sync, cloud computer, Skill invocation. Size 16:9."

I give the result 95 points.

The 5 points deducted are to hope Doubao Work doesn't get too proud and continues to improve, haha.

The overall style is very fitting, the color scheme is spot on, and the card-style layout feel comes through.

As the saying goes, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

03. Data processing

Ever since my good friend Cang He recommended Feishu Multidimensional Tables to me, I've recorded my resume revision data on it. Currently there are already over 1,000 records.

This is also my merit book. When I brag to my kids in the future, I can confidently say, "Don't think your dad is so ordinary; back in the day, I revised resumes for students from universities all across the country, including top-tier schools like Peking University and Zhejiang University."

It records education background, screenshots, 92 tags, graduation year, and other information.

Perfect to test Doubao Work's data processing capability.

"Help me analyze the resume revision records. First make a bar chart to see the quantity distribution of 985, 211, and non-92. Then a pie chart to see the proportion of the 26th cohort and 27th cohort."

Doubao Work directly read the data from the Feishu document.

It even installed matplotlib on its own. This step's experience felt very comfortable to me.

Because Feishu and Doubao Work are natively integrated, data can be read directly. I didn't need to first export the Feishu document as CSV, then upload it into the dialog box.

The bar chart came out first, clear at a glance.

The pie chart followed right after. The 27th cohort has a larger proportion, mainly because I only started using Feishu Multidimensional Tables this year; last year's 26th cohort wasn't recorded much.

There's also a portion of working professionals.

To be honest, in the data processing area, Doubao Work's biggest advantage is its native integration with Feishu.

Data is in Feishu; Doubao Work can directly read, directly analyze, directly produce charts. The entire process has no "export-upload" gap. For teams whose data is already in Feishu, this experience is simply fantastic.

Like me, basically all data that needs to be stored, I prioritize using Feishu Multidimensional Tables and cloud documents.

First, it can connect through Feishu CLI and Agent.

Second, Feishu's Multidimensional Tables support various state modifications, including bots and various automations.

Third, with Doubao Work, I'll be even more inseparable from it in the future.

04. Background running + interrupt anytime

Let's talk about these two features together, because they solve the same pain point — you don't have to wait idly for the Agent to finish running.

Doubao Work supports a mini-window mode. You can shrink it to a corner of the screen; the Agent continues running tasks in the background, and you do whatever you need to do.

For example, when I had it analyze data and generate charts, I could directly switch to VSCode and continue writing tutorials. When it finishes running, it pops a notification, and I just switch back to see the results.

Another feature that I find very comfortable is the ability to interrupt anytime.

While Doubao Work is executing a task, we can interject supplementary information at any time, without waiting for it to finish and start over.

For example, I had it help me write a work weekly report. While it was working, I could continue to interject "Make the boss feel my sincerity in working hard."

Doubao Work naturally integrated the supplementary information into the context.

Let me also show brothers and sisters the weekly report Doubao Work helped me complete. Really, even the most picky boss, upon seeing it, would think "Wow, this student is truly diligent, working with sincerity."

• Completed the design of Doubao multi-turn conversation context understanding optimization plan, organized requirements review and passed; clarified interaction logic, tracking plan, and acceptance criteria, now entered development scheduling
• Sorted through nearly two weeks of user feedback totaling 1,200+ items, identified TOP5 issues (context loss, verbose answers, format disorder, etc.), output problem attribution analysis and improvement suggestion document
• Aligned with algorithm team on the next round of model iteration rhythm, completed grayscale testing plan design for new capability (long document understanding enhancement), determined grayscale ratio, observation metrics, and rollback mechanism

After a full day of deep use of Doubao Work, my biggest feeling is —

Previously using other AI office tools, I always had to switch back and forth between giving commands and doing the work manually. In the end, it was worse than just doing it myself.

Especially when your team's documents aren't integrated with this Agent, it's truly a killer.

Doubao Work eliminates this middle layer of transport work. Data reads from Feishu, documents write to Feishu. Plus the cloud computer online 24/7, phone-side sync anytime — this experience is what an office Agent should be like.

I have to say, products nowadays are becoming more and more thoughtful.
