Can the Interface You Use Every Day Look a Little Better?

WorkBuddy is a very handy desktop tool, but the default interface inevitably feels a bit monotonous after a while. As someone who wants good looks but doesn't dare to mess with the software, I made a small tool—workbuddy-skin—to give it a background wallpaper and a frosted glass texture interface, and without touching any official files throughout the whole process, you can revert to the original at any time.

Now it has been packaged into a portable program that runs with a double-click, no need to install environments or type commands, ordinary users can easily get started.

What It Does

• Real Background Layer: Spreads a continuous wallpaper across the entire window (built-in gradient themes, or you can swap in your own photos).
• Glass Interface: Sidebar, top bar, menu bar, cards, and input boxes all become semi-transparent frosted glass, revealing the background.
• Automatic Theme Color: When changing wallpapers, automatically extracts the cover's main color to color the glass strokes and highlights, making the interface match the background better.
• Light/Dark Adaptation: Automatically switches color schemes following WorkBuddy's light/dark theme.
• Multi-Theme One-Click Switching: Built-in 5 presets (Aurora Glass / Midnight Blue / Sakura / Graphite / Character Support), switchable in real-time without restarting.
• Reversible: One operation removes the skin, cleanly restarts, and restores the official original appearance.

The sidebar, cards, and input boxes in the interface are all WorkBuddy's native controls, not stickers, and they work as usual when clicked.

How to Use

1. Open the project's Releases page, download the file corresponding to your system:
   • Windows: workbuddy-skin-windows-x64.exe
   • macOS (Apple Silicon): workbuddy-skin-macos-arm64
   • macOS (Intel): workbuddy-skin-macos-x64
   • Linux: workbuddy-skin-linux-x64
2. Double-click to run, a Chinese menu pops up.
3. Select by number:
   • 1 Apply skin (automatically starts WorkBuddy and applies the skin)
   • 2 Select theme
   • 3 Set wallpaper (drag an image into the window or paste the path)
   • 5 Restore to official appearance

A single program has all themes and style resources built in, works offline, portable and installation-free, delete the file to uninstall.
