A Community Open-Sources a Practical Guide to Tencent's WorkBuddy AI Office Agent

Hello everyone, I'm Cang He, back at full strength.

Recently, OpenAI merged Codex and ChatGPT. Codex may have been a transitional product on OpenAI's path to AGI.

The demand for Agent Coding is still too small. The real big demand is for office-type Work. On this point, Tencent may have thought more clearly than OpenAI, as can be seen from the name WorkBuddy.

More and more people are using WorkBuddy, but there really hasn't been a detailed practical tutorial yet. Of course, the official documentation exists, but few people would directly read a tutorial from the official website.

Some time ago, Liu Cong, Jiamu, Daishudi, Moxiaoxiaoli, and I attended an event in Beijing together and discussed this matter. We decided to collaborate on a WorkBuddy practical blue book.

After 7 days of intense work, today, we are officially open-sourcing the WorkBuddy Practical Blue Book.

We also got a domain name and deployed the website on Cloudflare. You can now open our website from anywhere in the world.

These past few days, to get this done, we've been like drained little donkeys, on back-to-back late-night calls for several nights. It seemed simple, but there were quite a lot of details to handle.

Haha, also humbly asking for a star, which would be the greatest support for us.

Previously, I created CodexGuide, which has already received 2.6k stars on GitHub.

Now there are also 5 full user groups, and many people in them have been hoping for a WorkBuddy tutorial. Well, here it is!

The entire practical blue book is divided into 4 sections: User Manual, Practical Cases, Advanced Systems, and Roles & Industries.

To be honest, the part we invested the most energy in is the Practical Cases, which we also believe is the most valuable part.

Many of the cases are our own practical examples. For instance, using WorkBuddy for knowledge management is one of my practices.

In WorkBuddy, Cang He has joined a total of 2 expert groups: the AI Video Creation Team and the Video Analysis Expert Group.

Among them, the AI Video Creation Team has already been used 27,900 times.

Now, the case study on how to use this expert group has also been added to the WorkBuddy Practical Blue Book, making it more convenient for everyone to use.

Some time ago, Cang He's GEO Expert was also listed on WorkBuddy, and it has now been used 16,500 times.

Now, in the WorkBuddy Practical Blue Book, you can also see how to use this GEO Expert. And a benefit of the website is that new updates can be put up immediately.

A few days ago, our Wuhan AI circle and Tencent Cloud jointly held a WorkBuddy Demo Day. I found that many people are already secretly using WorkBuddy to improve their office efficiency. For example, a lawyer is using WorkBuddy to organize litigation cases.

For different roles, we also created a WorkBuddy role roadmap, making it easy to understand how different positions can use WorkBuddy more deeply.

PS: Of course, if you have more industry implementation experience, you are also welcome to submit PRs to us to supplement the excellent case library.

In the appendix, we also added some commonly used command templates. This part mainly caters to novice users. When you download WorkBuddy and don't know how to use it, you might want to check out this section, which is designed to be so easy that anyone can do it.

Now, there are more and more experts and skills within WorkBuddy; you can't scroll to the end even after a long time.

Sometimes, finding the corresponding skill for a specific scenario isn't very convenient. So, finally, we added a Scenario Quick Reference Table in the appendix to make it easy to quickly look up different capabilities for different scenarios.

Here's a cheeky trick: you can even directly throw our website or GitHub at WorkBuddy, let it memorize this quick reference table, and recommend the right skills to you at the right time.
