Alibaba's QoderWork Brings Computer-Use Agents to Windows, With Discounted Nighttime Tokens

Foreword

Hello everyone, I'm Wanshao, a developer deeply involved in HarmonyOS and AI.

Recently, I've been completely immersed in AI creation and can't pull myself away; running multiple projects simultaneously has become the norm. Today, let's talk about an Alibaba product — QoderWork.

Alibaba has recently launched several user-facing AI products. A quick overview:

Let's look at their introductions one by one.

As a corporate drone, QoderWake's slogan — "Digital employees, each in their role, online around the clock" — really hits a nerve.

Why Focus on QoderWork

My personal feeling is: QoderWork actually has the most comprehensive functionality.

  1. It has all the features you'd expect

  2. Visual interface, user-friendly: Even if you're a programmer, you can easily manage multiple projects through the chat window. Just open one QoderWork, and you can manage all tasks under other paths, whether programming or daily office work.

  3. New features arrive fastest: As of June 30, 2026, I've searched around various domestic AI tools, and currently none have launched the Computer Use capability on Windows systems. Only QoderWork has it. Although it's a beta version, this directly hits my hard requirement — I need an AI tool that can truly operate a computer automatically, not an ordinary "chat" product. It can directly click the screen and simulate mouse operations for you.

  4. Nighttime model, token fee discount: During the 22:00 - 08:00 time slot, the fees for Qwen's top models are as shown below.

    Note: Qwen3.7-Max is the most capable but not multimodal; Qwen3.7-Plus is slightly less capable but is multimodal and has the lowest cost. For my nighttime work, I use Qwen3.7-Plus.

Basic Introduction to Using QoderWork

The features QoderWork provides are: New Task, Expert Suite, Skills, Connectors, Scheduled Tasks, and IM Channels.

New Task

This is essentially the dialog box, indicating what task you want to do right now. For simple Q&A, just use it directly; if you need to edit local files (like programming, modifying Word documents, etc.), it's recommended to select a workspace first, making it easier to modify local files.

Skills

Skills are just skills. This is what went viral across the internet recently. Think of it this way: a skill is a detailed description of a task — you can create your own or reuse ones made by others.

The skills in QoderWork are officially recognized reusable skills, currently available in three types:

  1. Built-in: Already integrated in QoderWork, ready to use directly.
  2. Marketplace: A platform provided by QoderWork for uploading, sharing, and downloading excellent skills.
  3. Installed: Skills you have already installed locally.

Of course, so-called skills, in physical form, are just a bunch of files + a bit of description. Since they are files, they are transferable — meaning skills from various AI products can be imported and used with each other. So QoderWork also provides the ability to import skills from other local AI products.

For example, my main tool Claude Code has already accumulated quite a few skills, and they can be directly imported into QoderWork for use.

Connectors

Connectors are the bridges your QoderWork uses to connect to other websites and software.

For example, you can use QoderWork to control DingTalk to publish a document, or let it control Feishu to compile a report. This enables cross-software linkage — add whatever you need based on actual requirements.

Among them, sharp-eyed friends might have already noticed: there is a connector called "Computer Control". That's right, this is the biggest reason I use QoderWork — currently, it's the only one that provides the ability to control the computer, helping me do a lot of automation work.

Expert Suite

An Expert Suite can be understood as a collection of all the above functions. Take making a movie as an example (I'm not a professional):

  1. Need to select actors
  2. Need to write a script
  3. Need to edit video
  4. Need to formulate a marketing plan

Combining the above requirements is essentially a stack of capabilities centered around the same purpose and domain. So here, the "Expert Suite" capability is introduced.

For example, buyer assistants, corporate legal, marketing, consulting delivery, and many other vertical domain experts needed by enterprises are already provided, ready to use out of the box.

Final Words

The AI era is bringing transformation to all walks of life. Knowing a bit more is always beneficial.

After all, the programmer of the future might not be the one who codes the fastest, but the one who uses AI the best.
